Ralph Gakenheimer is Professor of Urban Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is Chair of the Committee on Transportation in the Developing Countries of the US National Academy of Science TRB. He is a co-author of the Passenger Car in China published by the US National Academies and the China Academy of Engineering and author of “Shaping the Future: The Role of Urban Transportation Planning in China’s Urban Transport Development Strategy The World Bank. He is author and co-author of several papers concerning the transport and land use relationship in Chinese cities.
