Jianling Li

Jianling Li is professor of urban planning at the University of Texas, Arlington (UTA), where she teaches transportation planning and GIS.  She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests include impacts of transportation planning and policies on individual travel and organizational investment decisions, as well as the relationship between transportation and health outcomes.  Professor Li was a recipient of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Faculty Fellowship in 2001, and has received Research Excellence Awards for recognition of scholarship from UTA since the establishment of the award in 2004.  She served as an invited panelist on a project panel for the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP), the Transportation Research Board, National Academy of Science from 2006 to 2009.  She has chaired the student paper competition for the Transportation Planning Division of the American Planning Association since 2006.

Professor Li is also a certified planner of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).  Prior to joining the faculty at UTA, she was a postdoctoral fellow at California Partner for Advanced Transit and Highways (PATH) at the University of California at Berkeley, working on projects related to evaluation of electronic toll collection and other intelligent transportation system technology impacts.  She also had six years of practical experience as a professional planner at the Guangzhou Urban Planning Bureau in China.
