Sisi Liang, a Ph.D. candidate in City and Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania. Sisi has full sponsorship from China’s Scholarship Council and the University of Pennsylvania Design School. She received a Masters degree in Architecture from Tsinghua University in 2007. At the University of Pennsylvania she has served as a teaching assistant in Urban Economics and History of City Planning in the U.S. and worked in several research assistant positions. Currently Sisi is working under the direction of Gary Hack, Eugenie Birch, and Jonathan Barnett. She is interested in design strategies and development of high-tech industrial cities in China. Sisi has participated in planning and design activities in diverse projects in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Liaoning. She has made several presentations at the ACSP annual conference.
