The rapid urbanization
and the associated environment problems in China have attracted worldwide
attention. Following the successful International Conferences on China’s
Urban Development and Planning in June 2006 and June 2007, the Ministry of
Construction of China and the organizational committee including
International Association for China Planning (IACP) and Urban Planning
Society of China (UPSC) are calling for papers for the 3rd
International Conference and the 2nd International Association
for China Planning (IACP) Conference.
The event receives full support from and is led by the Ministry of
Construction, the central administrations in charge of urban development and
planning. The IACP has members consisting of planners and planning educators
interested in China’s urban development issues all over the world. UPSC is
China’s leading planning organization for practitioners as well as planning
educators. The past two conferences have been able to attract over 1000
